| About
the BVI NGIS
The
British Virgin Islands National GIS (BVINGIS)
is a cooperative developmental effort amongst
government
departments and statutory bodies who are working
together to create a comprehensive centralized
GIS for the
territory. Currently, the National GIS is working
to promote the concept and applications of GIS
for planning,
monitoring, and evaluation activities within
the government. Ongoing activities include the
establishment of
policy
guidelines for data sharing, cataloguing, access,
and dissemination. The National GIS epitomizes
the
success
that can be achieved through inter-governmental
agency collaboration and partnership.
